Canadian Music Week 01 - Shakura S'Aida at the El Mocambo

Thanks to my friend the amazing Folk Music publicist and overall personality on the pulse of everything musical- Richard Flohil, I was able to attend and photograph the blues artist Shakura S'Aida at the legendary El Mocambo venue. If the walls could speak right?

Shakura was part of a Toronto Blues Society showcase and she did not disappoint. Opening with her band in a stunning all legs silver sequin dress pretty much had the crowd on it's knees immediately. Of course the fact that this was followed by knock your socks off vocals on top of those legs, was even more mind blowing. Still recovering, that is all I have to say.
