Detroit Jazz Festival

Detroit Jazz Festival has been a mainstay in my Festival itinerary for years ever since my boyfriend became a volunteer and drove Dave Brubeck to and from the airport and my friend Karen served on their board of advisors.

This years festival which is always on Labor Day weekend was an especially hot weekend- not only in the weather but in the music. I loved that there was a full moon at night for this outdoor festival on the waterfront.

Even the musicians were doubling up on instruments. Here's a shot of Tim Warfield showing us that sometimes two is better than one.
