Seeing X at the Magic Bag was something I had been looking forward to for a few months - ever since I landed the assignment. This weeks show was even more important after the recent announcement of X band member Billy Zoom being diagnosed with bladder cancer.

The announcement happened recently on July 10th, prior to their Orange County show. The band adapted, got a fill in to complete the August tour dates while Billy gets treatments and started a 'Support Billy Zoom capaign.'

Detroiters have legendary big hearts and are also some of the most devoted music fans- despite our rough gritty exteriors! The venue was standing room only. X ripped out their classics , did a amazing encore with of course "New World" because remember "Don't forget the Motor City."
